Where do the events take place? Silent parties can happen virtually anywhere. Nightclubs, corporate events, festivals, beach parties, theme parks, and even private parties are just a few examples. Are these events really completely silent? They are silent. However, the party goers themselves may get rowdy. It's not out of the ordinary to hear them singing a song in unison while others outside of the situation stare in disbelief. There's nothing like it. Do people still have conversations with one another? Yes, many actually prefer this environment because when you're ready to escape the music, you just hit the mute button or slide the headphones off. People don't have to yell over the music to have a conversation, or run outside to escape the noise. What's the benefit of having two DJs? It's not completely necessary but it does give the party goers more options. Not everyone will like the exact same kind of music, so this will give him or her two choices instead of one. In some cases, it is simply used to offer listeners a choice between up-tempo and down-tempo music. One of the most entertaining things about this is watching people dance and sing to two different songs at the same time. Some may be singing one song together, while a different group of people is singing a totally different song. It's pure comedy to witness. When did this start? The concept began overseas in the early 2000's when people began looking for alternative ways to do events without noise constraints, via Silent Discos and Headphone Parties. |
